July Favourites 2014

So I know I would normally post this at the start of August but I'm going on a cruise and there is not ny wi-fi (I don't know how I'll cope!!) so expect some travel pictures in the future.

This month I have three favourite products I've been loving which are the Natural Collection Pressed powder, NYC Big Bold Curl Mascara and W7 Lipstick, The reds.

The first product I have been loving this month is the NYC Big Bold Curl Mascara which I picked up for £3.99 at Superdrug. I love this mascara as it adds volume and length to your lashed without being to clumpy. It would be great if NYC could release a waterproof version of this mascara as it wouldn't smudge easily.

The sexond product I Natural Collection Pressed powdehave been loving is the Natural Collection Pressed powder in the shade Cool. At only £1.99 you can't really go wrong and is really good value for your money. I find this shade is really close to translucent and the powder holds your foundation and concealer in place for most of the day.

The final product is the W7 Lipstick, the reds in the shade Chestnut. A past product of the month was from this line but in the shade Scarlett Fever. Chestnut is darker than Scarlett fever but still have the same long wearing, pigmented colour and I can't wait to try out the rest of this collection. I think that Scarlett Fever looks better in summer as it is brighter but I think Chestnut will look so good in the winter.

So this I what I've been loving in July, let me know what you think if you are going to/ have tried these products.
What have you been loving this month?

Prom!

As some of you may already know I left school in June which meant that to celebrate we had a prom on the 18th July. So me and my friends go there by this army truck/jeep thing (shown below). I loved our transport as it was original because everyone went in limos and fancy cars and there we were, a group of teenage girls in a manly truck.

So I didn't really want to spend £300 on a dress from a fancy overpriced shop which I probably wouldn't really wear again. My dress is from Miss Selfridge and cost £100. It may still seem a bit pricy but my family are going on a cruise in August so I would wear it then so it's wasn't that much of a loss. When I first saw that it was a fishtail dress I was a little bit put off but when I tried it on I thought it looked lovely and I wasn't really tight. Because there was so much beading and detailing on the dress I didn't really have many accssories as it may of been too much.

As there quite a bit of silver detailing I decided to get some silver heels. I was tempted with some silver Doc Martins but I wouldn't of been aloud on the truck by my friends:-( . So because I have flat feet getting heels can be an absolute pain but I found these wide fit silver heels from Next for £25. The looked absolutely amazing.

Unless anyone wants to see my makeup/tutorial I'm only going to list the products I used and my nails. I'm very fussy when it comes to my hair and makeup as if it wasn't how I wanted it I would of taken it all off a redone it myself so I decided to save money and just do it myself. I knew that I wanted my hair down and loosely curled but I wasn't really sure wether I wanted it to one side or half up half down until he day before but I decided wit bit to the side. I found these little butterfly clips at a local craftshop which matched my dress pefectly.

For my nails I used a minty green base coat and then added at strip of glitter at one side to make it look more interesting.

Sunset ombré nails!!! (Nail tutorial #3)

SUNSET OMBRÉ NAILS!!!

So most people know how to ombré nails as there are so many tutorials on Youtube and on other blogs so I decided to put my own twist on a simple idea based upon a sunset.

You will need :

* Yellow nail polish
* Pink/orange nail polish (my orange had dried up so I used a coral pink)
* Red nail polish
* Black nail polish
* Make up sponge
* Small paint brush/nail striper

Step 1

After you have removed any old polish, paint the yellow, orange/pink and red onto a make up sponge making sure it goes from lightest to darkest. To make sure the colour blend in the nail, over lap and blend the colours where they meet.

Step two

Press the make up sponge on each nail. If you don't want to remove any excess polish you can always put cello tape around the nail. Do this on your every finger except the thumb and the ring finger.

Step three

If you did not use cello tape remove any excess polish on the finger using ether small cotton buds or a corrector pen.

Step four

On the ring finger and thumb usin red glitter polish. I used the Barry M polish in the colour Red Glitter.

Step five

Using a black polish and a small paint brush (or striper if you have one) you create a palm tree on you first nail. Do this by creating the trunk first by creating a line that comes up half way on your nail that gets thinner. Then create curved lines at the top as leaves.

Then on your next finger create a sun by creating a semi circle and lines coming off to represent rays.

Then on my little finger create curved 'V' shapes as birds.

Step six

Add any top coat to stop your design from chipping.

What did you think of this design, let me know. Don't forget to follow me on BlogLovin,

Product of the month - June

So in June my favourite product of the month had to be the Collection Extreme 24 hour felt liner I'm black. This product is easy to use and it's quite dark compared to other products. It also didn't leave me out of pocket at £2.49 so I would defiantly reccomend the product to anyone!!!
