What I got for my birthday

So on Wednesday I turned 17 and I thought I'd share a few of the things I got and what I did. I didn't do anything massive because last year I did a lot for my birthday (I went to Thrope Park Fright Night and went out with loads of my friends for a meal) I thought I wouldn't do anything special. All I did was go out for a meal with my best friend and my family. Yep, I'm easy to please I know. We just went to the Harvester and went shopping afterwards which was a lovely way to spend my birthday.

What I got..

1. DC Comics year by year edition -my parents got this for me because they know that I'm kind of obsessed with superheroes. This book contains pretty much everything you can know about DC which is pretty cool.
2. Fantasy Life - ok I know I'm 17 now but I still love my DS ok? I absoutly love this game. To me,
it's a combination of animal crossing and legend of zelda and I highly reccomend it!
3. Looking For Alaska by John Green - my little brother actually got this for me because he knows
how much I loved the fault in our stars. Isn't he cute? I so excited to read this and everyone has told
me it's worth reading so I have high expectations!
4. Therory books and driving lessons - so my mums decided that I need to learn to drive which I kind of have mixed feelings about. I think I'm going to be a terrible driver but I'm just going to get it over and done with. Hopefully it's not to bad.
5. Necklace - I got the most gorgeous little necklace from my friend and it's looks super adorable with everything. It looks quite expensive so I'm trying my best to take care of it!
6. Batman headphones - I broke my headphones so my mum brought me these to replace them and of course they had to be superhero of course. I think she got these from Sports Direct.
7. River island voucher - I got a £20 voucher from my friend and so far I've only spent £5 (so proud) on a dress.

I absoutly love this dress as it's quite thick and looks amazing on. To make things even better it cost me £5 in the sale... What a bargain! This dress is perfect for autum/winter.

So my favouite present which I had been waiting for since FOREVER is 1989 by Taylor Swift and the pre order for Four by One Direction which I can't wait to come out!!!

My CD came with these cute little Polaroids which have lyrics written in them. My two favourite tracks are Bad Blood and Blank Space... But every single one of them is amazing as well. I really hope she does a tour for this album because the Red tour was so amazing (I went in Febuary) and I really want to see her again.

What did you guys get for your birthday this year or what are you hoping to get?

#teenblogsunite #4 - Baking

Ok so I'm just gonna put it out there that I'm not the best baker in the world. I don't really have a lot of time to do so and when I do I need it to be quick and simple. One of my favouite things to bake are Ginger Biscuits because they are super easy and are super yummy as well. Let's get started then...

Ingredients

  • 125g softened margarine or butter
  • 125g demerara or dark brown soft sugar
  • 1 egg yolk (if you can't seperate it just add the White)
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 180g self raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

Equipment

Mixing bowl
Whisk
Baking tray
Grease proof paper
Teaspoon
Tablespoon
Scales
Sieve
Wooden spoon

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Cut the grease proof paper to fit the tray. If you don'thave grease proof paper use a thin amount of butter or oil.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar with the whack. When they are done they should be beaten together till they resemble the consistency of whipped cream.
  3. Beat in the egg yolk and syrup with the butter and sugar.
  4. Combine the ginger and the flour. Sieve into the butter mixture and fold together gently.
  5. Spoon walnut sized balls onto the prepared tray, then flatten each slightly with the back of a fork or just use a spoon or your hands... It works either way.
  6. Bake the biscuits in the oven for about 12-17 minutes or until they are golden brown.

See what I mean? So simple. What do you guys like to bake and what to you think of this recipe?

LA Colors Color Craze Review

So I found this brand of nail varnish at the chemist and they were only £1 a bottle! I thought I'd pick a few up and try them out and they did not disappoint! I brought three colours (one of them is a top coat) and I absolutely love it! The colour is so pigmented which I was hoping for from the title 'Color Craze' and I was defiantly not disappointed! The only down side is that I used three coats of 'Dazzle' and 'So Famous' so I would like the formula to be thicker but at £1 I can't really complain. It's great for people on a budget or just starting out in nail varnish.

So Famous

Broken Hearted (top coat)

Have any of your tried the LA Color nail varnishes ... If so what did you think?

Autumn Boots

So I reccently found these adorable little boots from Primark which are perfect for autumn and look absolutely amazing with everything. They cost me £15 which is an absolute bargain. The heel isn't too big so it makes me look taller (I'm really small okay?) but it doesn't hurt your feet when wearing it. This makes them perfect for pretty much any occasion. The look super cute with playsuits and thick black tights.

What boots are you waering this autumn? How would you style these boots?

#teenblogsunite #3 - Brand focus

So in case you were unaware, I'm doing a series called Teen Bloggs Unite and if you missed my last one you can click here.

So this week I'm discussing my favourite brands so seeing as I've already done a post on my favourite make up brand ,NYC, (click here to view) I would discuss my favourite clothing brand (sorry if that's not allowed)

At the moment I have been loving H&M as it is super affordable for a student and is good quality for the price. I absolutely live the crop tops there (they are my must have fashion item) and I think they start at only £3.99 which is such a good deal. I even love their make up range and the brushes are so good as well as the nail varnishes. I always go in H&M every time I'm i. Town and there's always something j want to buy (which isn't good for the bank balance) I got my college bag from here as well and it hasn't failed me yet!

What's your favouite highstreet shop? And what's the best thing you've brought from H&M, mines the crop top I wore in my last teen blogs unite (click here).

Nail Tutorial #4 - Half Moon

So I know it's been a long time since my last one of these but I thought I was about time for another nail tutorial. This one looks really good and is so simple to do.

All you need is :
*Hole Reniforcers (you'll know what I mean in a bit)
*Two different nail colours
*Top coat

Step one -
Paint your nails the first colour (you can add a base coat if you want) I went for a sparkley redish pink. I would apply two coats to make sure teh colour is vibrant enough.

Step two -
Cut the hole reinforcers in half. This is going to create the curved shape for this nail design.

Step three -
When the first colour has dried - and I mean COMPLETELY dried - gentley stick the semi circle on the nail.

Step four -
Paint the second nail colour over the sticker. Don't paint over the hole at the bottom as it will craet a different design. I mean you can if you wanna creat a curved stripe.

And when you've painted the final layer remove the sticker and you should have a curved design. If you  put the sticker near the tip of the snip it would look really good for a French manicure design.

What do you guys think of this design and what colours would you use?

Katy Perry Killer Queen review

So if you read my last post you will know that one of my all time favouite perfumes is Killer Queen by Katy Perry. I recently purchased the entire set with the perfume, body lotion and shower gel for under £20 as her new fragrance has just come out. Honestly if your in Savers anytime soon I would highly reccomend purchasing it... You won't regret it.

Ok can I just start by daunting how amazing the bottle looks. It's so pretty and I love the colour scheme and it stand out and looks amazing in any shelf... And the smell lives up to the packaging. It's smells more expensive than it actual is. It has an amazing florals sent but doesn't smell too girly or flowery (if that makes sense). It has it has other sents mixed in such as red berries and put which makes it smell completely original and fabulous in every single way. I was worried that the shower gel and body lotion wouldn't live up to the string smell of the perfume but it did! I love Katy and was not disappointed by this perfume and can't wait to try Royal Revolution.

What's your favouite perfume and have you tried this one? What do you think of the Katy Perry perfumes?

September favourites

So it's time to say goodbye September and hello October (which means it's my birthday this month - just saying) so it's time for me to share my September favourites with you lovely people of the Internet!

So I have four beauty favouites favourites this month which are the Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume, Miss Sporty Studio Lash, Incrediball mascara, Rimmel London 121 lipstick and MUA Lipliner in the shade Brooding Plum.

First off we have the perfume and can we just take in the bottle for a second... It looks amazing! I know that her new perfume has just come out but this is one of my all time favourites and is currently on special offer at Saver as it cost me £19.99 which is such a bargain! It smells so good and I always get tons of comments like 'someone smells nice'. Honestly would 110% reccomend it!

My second favouite(s) are the lip products. I've featured them quite a look this month so click here to see my last post with these products. To sum up I love these two together and I'm finally gonna repurchase.

So last for my beauty products is the mascara which I am loving this month!!! I don't know if I've mentioned this product before but I'm pretty sure I have so I'll keep it simple. The ball gives every lash an equal amount of volume which made me fall in the love with this product.

Music favourites ...
So I have two current music favourites and the first one if Lullaby by Professor Green and Tori Kelly. I can't really say much than I love this song... Even my mum said she loves it and she normally hates any sort of rap music. Just saying it's amazing.
So my second favouite came out at the end of September but I am OBSESSED with it... Not to anyone's surprise it's Steal my Girl by One Direction... This song just gets stuck in my head and I've
being singing it all day today (and annoying my friends in the process). Honestly I can't wait for the
album.

Well that's all I have today folks ... What have guys been loving this month? And have you tried any of these products and what did you think?
